A 44-YEAR-OLD man was today in custody after police were threatened with an imitation firearm after a three-hour car chase.

The chase began after Cheshire police found a seriously injured woman at a house in Priory Close, Congleton.

The Land Rover they were following then rammed three police cars at around 3am on Saturday.

Just before 6am the driver stopped in Market Street where he threatened police with the firearm. A man was arrested at around 6am.

The woman was taken to hospital.
