A FORMER nightclub bouncer is set to stand trial after pleading not guilty to two charges of wounding with intent to commit GBH.
Mark Igoe, 33, is accused of an attack on 55-year-old Frank Pemberton outside Madisons, where he was employed, in the early hours of Saturday, April 25.
RAOB (Buffs) Club steward Mr Pemberton, of London Road, subsequently spent almost three weeks in hospital with serious head injuries.
Igoe, of Milton Grove, Warrington denied the allegations at Knutsford Crown Court this morning, Friday, and was remanded in custody by Judge David Hale.
He is due to return to court for a hearing on September 17, when a provisional trial date of September 25 is expected to be confirmed.
Madisons, on High Street, has been closed since owner John Bates, of Priory Avenue in Northwich, voluntarily surrendered his licence in May.
