A FORMER nightclub doorman charged with attacking a 55-year-old man outside Madisons in Northwich town centre has had an application for bail refused.

Mark Igoe, 33, of Milton Grove, Warrington, is charged with two counts of wounding with intent to commit GBH in connection with an assault on RAOB Club steward Frank Pemberton in the early hours of Saturday, April 25.

He has been in custody since April 26, and appeared at Chester Crown Court this morning, Tuesday, in a bid to get bail.

But Judge David Hale rejected the application, and Igoe will now remain in custody until July 24, when he will return to court to enter pleas to the charges.

Madisons has been closed since owner John Bates, of Priory Avenue in Northwich, voluntarily surrendered his licence in May.
