A TRIO of Wrexham teenagers have been named in the Wales under-21 squad for the friendly against Northern Ireland in a fortnight's time.

Midfielder Levi Mackin, 19, and brothers Mike and Marc Williams, 19 and 17 respectively, have been given the nod by Wales intermediate boss Brian Flynn who is casting the net wide for new talent.

Meanwhile Wrexham's Simon Spender, Matt Crowell and Mark Jones, who are also eligible for the under-21s, have been overlooked on this occasion as Flynn includes eight uncapped players.

Midfielder Jones, the Dragons' leading goalscorer this season, is likely to be named in John Toshack's senior squad when it is announced tomorrow ahead of the St David's Day friendly with Paraguay at the Millennium Stadium.

Former Racecourse scholar, 18-year old Rob Davies, who is on the first team fringes at West Bromwich Albion, also wins a first-time under-21 call, while Germany-based striker, Dylan Hughes, whose family originate from Gwynedd is back after an injury-hit absence of two years which followed his debut against Latvia in 2004.

The under-21 game is being staged at Llanelli's Stebonheath Park on February 28 and will be shown live on Sky TV. Wrexham's Levi Mackin
