BOTTOM side Llangefni Town, determined their first Welsh Premier campaign will not be their last, aim to complete the double over hosts Newi Cefn Druids tonight.

Their November clash at Talwrn Road produced a 2-0 win for the Anglesey side, with goals from Steve Kehoe and Dylan Owen.

Llangefni director of football Gus Williams said: “In our predicament, we have got to fight for every point and, in this particular game, that means we need the three points.

“Newi have tightened up a lot since they played at our place and their joint manager Wayne Phillips has been quoted as saying he was pleased with several recent performances.

“We have crunch games coming up with teams near us in the table, particularly Caersws and Caernarfon Town and, while every game is vital, these will be more vital than the others.”

Druids will look to put the record straight tonight in another crucial clash in their quest for league survival, writes John Bridgwater.

Victory should ease their lingering relegation fears, while joint boss Lee Jones is anxious the Ancients turn in an improved display after losing in Anglesey earlier in the campaign.

“We did not perform in Llangefni that night, we let ourselves down so we’ll be looking to do a lot better this evening,” he said.

“It’s a game we feel we can win, and if we can get three points I don’t think we’ll be too far away from safety.

“We can take a lot of positives from our last three games, and we’ve shown we’ve got the quality in our squad to get us up the table.”

Joint boss Phillips is suspended, while forward Darren Williams is also out with damaged ankle ligaments.
