THREE players have been drafted in by Llangefni boss Adie Jones for today’s visit to Newtown.

Defenders Lee Dixon and Mike Parry resume, along with recent midfield signing Lee Craven, who moved from Conwy United.

Missing will be Mark Jones, because of an ankle injury, and Richard Hughes, for work reasons, while captain Graham Austin’s groin problem is more serious than thought and he faces another fortnight out.

But Llangefni, who remain bottom, are encouraged by their displays in the last two games.

Jones said: “We did okay at Neath, even though we lost 2-0, and again at home to Caernarfon the other night when the bulk of the chances came our way.

“At Newtown, we will aim to carry on playing to that standard but have got to accept our chances if they come along.

“If we do start scoring, that will take the pressure off the back four, who have improved – although we are still looking for our first clean sheet.”

Newtown boss Darren Ryan is backing his side to revive their fortunes as they embark on the first of three home outings, writes John Bridgwater.

Two successive defeats, including the midweek 2-1 reverse at Rhyl, have seen the Robins slip into the wrong half of the table.

But Ryan believes that can all change, and said: “At this stage of the season it can all change with a couple of wins.

“Although we lost our last two games, I was quite happy with the performances.”

The hosts are without left-back Damien Daniels who was red-carded against Rhyl, while Shane Sutton and Rob King are still a few weeks short of fitness. But midfielders Richard Williams-Cooke and Dan Hooper are included.
