Students from St Mary of the Angels Primary School in Little Sutton hosted a group of Spanish students in October.

All the students had a fabulous time with their teachers at a Beatles tribute night, in Liverpool’s Cavern Club.

Teacher Tania Mari, from Santa Maria school in Pamplona, said: “It was a wonderful exchange visit with a great night out in the famous Cavern and we loved Ellesmere Port.”

Other highlights included visits to Cheshire Oaks and Chester Zoo.

Rob Hughes, headteacher at St Mary’s, said: “Now that modern languages are compulsory in junior schools, it was a great chance for our pupils to practise their Spanish skills with their new friends.

“A return visit to Spain for St Mary’s pupils will take place next June.”
