RHYL yesterday completed the shock of the transfer window so far when they signed Marc Lloyd Williams.

Lloyd Williams, the league’s all-time record scorer with 271 goals from 344 appearances, joined his sixth Welsh Premier club yesterday when he signed from Newtown.

Known as “Jiws”, the 34-year-old striker has scored 16 goals already this season from 20 appearances with the Robins.

The forward broke the league’s scoring record in his first spell at Bangor City, hitting the net 47 times in the 2001/2 season. He became the first Welsh Premier player to score 200 goals in January 2005 while at TNS, scoring 34 that season as the Saints won the title.

A Wales “B” and semi-pro international, Jiws has also been at Porthmadog and Aberystwyth Town and has played in the Football League for Stockport County, Halifax and York City.

He has proved a nemesis for the Lilywhites in the past while playing for rivals TNS and Bangor, but now Lloyd Williams joins strikers Lee Hunt, Andy Moran and Dave Cameron at Belle Vue.
