YALE College is showcasing the work of portrait artist Liam O'Connor in its Memorial Gallery.

A prize-winner of the Viterbo School of Art in Italy, Liam studied at the University of Wales Institute in Cardiff before he started his professional career two years ago.

Interest in his work is growing and this exhibition at Yale follows two recent solo exhibitions in Cardiff as well as numerous other exhibitions across the country.

Liam's work usually begins as a story or situation that is constructed and acted. This is then recorded using film and later becomes source material for the final piece. The experience of painting an image that was originally viewed as a moving medium inspires Liam, and has become the focussing point that he is currently following.

Yale College is welcoming members of the public to view the exhibition, which is on display until March 3. The Memorial Gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am-4pm, and admission is free.
