LLAY Royal British Legion Club was rocking to the sound of Elvis when a 'Viva Elvis Show' was held in aid of Nightingale House Hospice.

Elvis impersonator Chris Clayton wowed the audience with a great hour-and-a-half performance and at the end of the evening, a cheque for £2,000 was presented to Chris Roberts, head housekeeper at the hospice.

Organisers of the evening, Albert Edwards and Mo Weston, were extremely pleased with the success of the show.

Mo said: 'We raised nearly £1,300 from the show, which we added to other money raised at the Legion to make up for the £2,000 for Nightingale House. We would like to thank everyone for their support.'

Menai Owen-Jones, community fundraiser for the hospice said: 'We are very grateful to Llay British Legion for supporting Nightingale House. They have been avid fundraisers for the hospice for many years and we would like to thank them for their continued fundraising efforts.'

Llay British Legion's next show in aid of Nightingale House will be on Saturday, June 25.

The show, which starts at 8pm, will feature The American Illinois Blues Brothers and supporting artists. Tickets are £6 and are available from Nightingale House Hospice or call Mo on 01978 852348.
