LOVEBIRDS Mandy Nancollas and Rod Skillen are heading to Lapland for a “winter wonderland” wedding – and will be joined in holy matrimony by their next door neighbours.

Mandy, 37 and 32-year-old Rod, of Meadow Grove, Leftwich will tie the knot in January in a joint ceremony with their close friends Ann Anderson, 42, and Paul Norbury, 32.

The foursome will spend three days in the Levi ski resort with their friends and family before taking their vows in a traditional ceremony in a teepee-style ‘kota’. The blushing brrr-ides, who have been neighbours for nearly eight years, will arrive for the service in a reindeer drawn sleigh.

Mandy’s daughters Kylie, 20, Lucy, 14 and Kia, four and Ann’s daughters Jay, 15 and Paige, 13 will be bridesmaids. Mandy and Rod’s son Jay, six and Ann’s 10-year-old son Connor, will be on page boy duties.

Mandy, who is the granddaughter of former Vale Royal Cllr Ron Woodier, said: “Me and Rod had already decided to get married and we just got together with Ann and Paul one night and talked about it. They were going to come as out witnesses then they just decided to get married as well.”

“She got me drunk!” laughed Ann, 42, who works at Clark’s shoe shop in Northwich. “Mandy always said she’d wanted to get married in the snow and I thought it sounded like a wonderful idea.”

The trip of a lifetime, which has taken more than a year to plan, will be followed up by a Valentine’s Day reception at Hartford Golf Club.
