LLANDUDNO Town will be without 18-goal Lee Thomas for their tricky assignment at mid-table Mynydd Isa today.

Thomas, who serves a two-match ban, will also have to stand aside from the Seasiders’ North Wales Coast Challenge Cup semi-final against Bethesda Athletic at Conwy United on Wednesday.

A squad of 16 will be on stand-by at the Mold club’s Argoed ground, where Llandudno expect a tough time against opponents who held them 1-1 in September.

Joint manager James Cornish said: “The lads are full of confidence but this is not going to be easy and they must knuckle down to get the result that we want. Mynydd can be a difficult side to beat and the pitch conditions there are not the best.”

Second-from-top Llandudno trail runaway leaders Prestatyn Town by 13 points and are seven points ahead of Bala Town, who have four games in hand.

Denbigh Town are likely to be without captain Mark Orme for this afternoon’s visit of Glantraeth following an injury that forced him off the field in Wednesday’s 4-2 defeat at Holyhead Hotspur, writes Mike McEvoy.

“I went up for a header and as I landed the other lad’s (opponent) weight all went onto my ankle,” said Orme, who was taken to hospital for an x-ray. “Luckily I have not broke anything but I’ve got a lot of bruising and swelling in the area.

Centre-back Tony Davies missed out on Wednesday due to a leg injury, so John Roberts slotted into his defensive role. Davies will undergo a fitness test ahead of today’s clash.

Town still have a top-six finish in their sights despite losing three of their last four games, all those reverses coming against the top three.

Meanwhile, Buckley Town boss Simon Sedgwick is backing his side to bounce back from last weekend’s seven-goal hammering at leaders Prestatyn when they head for Penrhyncoch today, writes John Bridgwater.

He said: “Once we were down to 10 men in the second half it was men against boys. We’re a young side, but the spirit is good in the camp.

“Penrhyncoch is a big game, but we’ll be going there looking for three points and look to drag them below us.”

Buckley are boosted by the return of Matt Roberts, Lee Jones, Stuart Cossins and Andy Neill.
