LEE MCEVILLY completed an amazing Wrexham U-turn yesterday and insisted he had no regrets about snubbing Bradford City.

The 24-year-old Northern Ireland striker returned to the Racecourse to sign a two-year deal after he was told to prove he was worth a similar contract at Valley Parade.

Bantams boss Colin Todd was unconvinced that the frontman had fully recovered from a broken metatarsal to play for the League One outfit.

And despite former Roch-dale man McEvilly initially agreeing a deal and appearing in a Bradford scarf on Monday, Wrexham boss Denis Smith stepped in at the 11th hour to snap him up.

"I went to Bradford because it was a step up in the leagues and they are a good club," said McEvilly who plundered seven Dragons goals in just 15 starts last season.

"They wanted to see me in training rather than sign on now so I decided against that."
