A TOP civil servant has given a presentation on how to help run the UK.
Paul Jones, son of Ellesmere Port county councillor and Cheshire Fire Authority member Brian Jones, gave local Fire and Rescue Officers an insight into the leadership qualities expected at the heart of Government.
Mr Jones, group director of human resources at the Treasury, has worked closely with many leading politicians including Gordon Brown and Margaret Thatcher.
He is one of a number of “inspirational speakers” who have given presentations to staff at Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service as part of a management development programme.
Mr Jones, who holds a Masters degree in International Human Resources Management, set out a number of key principles which he encouraged staff to stick to in ensuring clear and effective leadership.
Service area manager John Redmond, who opened the half-day session, said: “It’s important that the Service gives its managers of the future the chance to get a fresh perspective on how different organisations lead, motivate and manage their staff.”
