WINSFORD’S new town mayor was officially unveiled at an inauguration ceremony at Wyvern House on Monday night.
Cllr Des Worthington handed over the reigns to stalwart Nick Harris (Lab, Dene), a Winsford town councillor of 26 years.
Cllr Harris and his wife Myra celebrated 50 years of marriage in April, and have two sons and a daughter.
Prior to his retirement Cllr Harris served 35 years with the North West Ambulance Service. He was also a retained firefighter for 34 years.
During his year in office, his fourth stint as town mayor, he will raise money for research into prostate cancer.
