STAFF at a Wrexham bookmakers were terrorised by a robber with a 10-12 inch knife last Saturday evening, March 13, just before 6pm.

The man entered Ladbrokes in Kingsmill Road, Hightown, and demanded cash from the staff as he threatened them with the knife. He then left the premises with an unspecified amount of money and made his escape on foot along Kingsmill Road in the direction of Marchwiel. Police were called to the scene and found the staff very shaken, but unhurt.

The man is described as being in his late 20s to early 30s, of slim build and wearing a blue hooded top and a baseball cap. He spoke with a Liverpool accent.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to help them apprehend this man as soon as possible. DC Kevin Whitehead said: 'This is an extremely serious offence and we are urging anyone who may have seen a man matching this description in the vicinity of Kingsmill Road on Saturday evening to contact us.
