BRIAN Little has today taken his summer signings up to seven with the capture of Darran Kempson.

The centre-back arrives at Wrexham having fallen out of favour at Shrewsbury.

Kempson, 23, made 23 appearances for the Dragons’ border rivals last season, as well as spending a stint on loan at Accrington, before being told by boss Paul Simpson he no longer figured in his plans.

Kempson, whose career began at Preston and has also taken in spells at Morecambe and Crewe, has penned a two-year deal.

Wrexham boss Little told the Chronicle earlier this week his next signings would need the ability to walk straight into the team he is assembling for the club’s first campaign in the Blue Square Premier.
