FOOD giant Kellogg’s has urged firms to follow its example and give staff Friday afternoons off in the summer to boost workers’ morale.

The company, which has a factory at Wrexham, will give the 660 workers at its Manchester head office the chance to finish work at noon on Fridays – if they’ve completed their 36.6-hour week.

The scheme, first piloted six years ago, will run from May to September after company research showed it helped improve motivation.

A spokeswoman did not say if the scheme will be open to 400-plus staff at Wrexham.
