MANAGER Darren Ryan expressed himself satisfied as Newtown continued their unbeaten start to the month with a battling home draw against the steelmen.

The Robins were helped in no small part by a string of fine saves from keeper Dave Jones who came to his side’s rescue during a sticky spell at the start of the second half.

“I was very pleased with a point,” said Ryan.

“Dave made some outstanding saves, particularly in the second half, to show what a good keeper he is. We did not really get going for 25 minutes, but we hung in there, the defence was superb and we could have won it at the end.”
