A TEENAGER has raised up to £1,000 for a children’s cancer charity.

Katie Phillips, 17, of Ellesmere Port, held a fundraising ball at the town’s Civic Hall.

She said: “I want to thank everybody that came on the night and bought raffle tickets and wristbands.

“I also thank my sixth form at Bishops’ High School for raising £600 for me and for Chester’s free runners for supporting and selling my wristbands to help me raise more money.

“And I’d like to say a very big thank you to the Ellesmere Port band k115 for perform- ing on the night with no charge and donating all sales of their CD for the charity. They raised £100.

“I need to raise £2,500 so I am now getting closer to my target. The ball was in aid of The Joshua Foundation which provides holidays and experiences for children and their families who are diagnosed with terminal cancer.”
