A DREAM came true for two Wrexham brothers when they met some of their footballing heroes from Premiership giants Arsenal.

David and Jason Gray travelled down to Highbury to receive a special achievement award from players in recognition of their support for dad Michael.

David, 12, and Jason, 14 - both avid Arsenal fans and members of the Junior Gunners - were nominated by Michael after he was made redundant and then incapicitated for four months with a badly broken leg.

Both Daniel and Jason volunteered to hand over money from their paper rounds to boost the family finances and even helped their mum about the house while visiting Michael daily in hospital to cheer him up.

Patrick Viera, Arsenal captain, said: 'It's always nice when we have an opportunity to meet supporters, and the awards afternoon is special, with the younger children present being nominated by friends and family for individual achievements.'

Sue Campbell, manager of the Junior Gunners, said: 'The awards ceremony gives everyone the chance to acknowledge how much effort some members have to make to enjoy football. It's always a really great afternoon, with the winners getting to meet their favourite players here at Highbury.'
