THE Wrexham Model Girl 2008 was crowned in a grand final on November 9.

Jenna Downs, 15, of Flint, beat 20 other girls in the final at Cross Lane Hotel, Wrexham, to claim the title.

Her prize includes a one-year casting contract with Impact Models, a £250 portfolio with Dave Williams Photography of Chester and £200 worth of make-up.

She will go on to represent Wales at the Model Girl UK competition to be held in Manchester in July next year.

Lillie Goosey, of Worthenbury, came in second and Wrexham girl Nichola Evans claimed third prize, both bagging a selection of make-up.

Nichola also won the title of Wrexham Charity Model Girl after raising £98 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Organiser Jason Rowland said: “It’s such a shame that there had to be losers. The girls’ standard was so high, it was a very hard job for the judges.”

The event raised more than £400 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
