JADE CARR collected a haul of medals at the Transplant Games in Sheffield.

Jade, 15, from Runcorn, took gold in table tennis, badminton, and long jump, and silver in the 100m sprint and ball-throw.

She smashed her personal bests in long jump and the 100m and was entered for the adults mixed relay team, which finished fourth, the best the Harefield Hospital team has ever finished in that event.

Jade jumped 3.69m, 0.40m more than her previous best, and she knocked half a second off her 100m PB, crossing the line in 14.6s.

A gala dinner capped off the weekend at which Jade was presented with the Avon Trophy for best junior athlete for the second year running.

Having rested for three days catching up with friends Jade returned to training with Widnes Harriers last Thursday.

Jade can add the haul of gold and silver to the five gold medals and one bronze from her last competition at the Heart and Lung Transplant Games.

She will next take part in a charity badminton competition to raise cash to travel to the Gold Coast, Australia to compete in the World Transplant Games 2009.
