WREXHAM Swimming Club swept aside the best Wales has to offer at the opening of a new £6million pool in Llandudno.

After the impressive facility was unveiled by Paralympic legend Dame Tanni Grey Thompson, teams from across the country did battle in the final of the Welsh National Swimming League.

And it was Wrexham who came out on top, some 120 points better off than second-placed Pontypool.

Club press officer Nick Tynan said: “This result confirms Wrexham as the top competitive swimming team in Wales and is the result of a lot of hard work by the swimmers, head coach Ruth Flight and her staff.”
