A WINSFORD teenager who chased a boy through the Wharton estate and threatened to “batter” him has appeared in court.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was one of a group of 15-20 people who “kicked-off” on the younger boy “just for a laugh” at 10pm on March 27, Vale Royal Youth Court heard on Wednesday.

Bottles were then thrown at the victim’s house, one smashing a window, before the defendant, who pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour, got him in a headlock.

“The fact he’s here is an embarrassment for himself and his mother,” said Vicky Robinson Parker, defending. The defendant’s mum added: “He’s been an idiot.”

The youth was given a four-month referral order and told to pay the £60 court costs.
