GRESFORD ice dancers Owen Edwards and his partner Zelda Aurora-Roper are taking part in Macmillan Cancer Relief's Macmillan Miles Challenge.

They are to ice-dance for a mile on Wednesday, May 25, and were joined by Miles the Mouse, on the Deeside Ice Rink where they practice, to promote the event.

Owen and Zelda will join thousands of other participants across the UK taking up their own Macmillan Miles Challenge to raise vital funds for people living with cancer. People can choose to cover a mile in whatever way they choose, between May 22 and May 29, and get sponsored for it.

Unusual miles this year include knitting, horse-riding, dog-walking and eating cakes.

By donating miles, last year participants raised more than £14,000 in thousands of mile-related events across North Wales.

Joining in could not be easier - simply call the hotline on 0845 602 1490 or log on to www.macmillan.org.uk/miles for details.
