VISITING restrictions are in place at the Countess of Chester Hospital to contain the latest bout of the bug norovirus.

Currently, 14 patients are showing symptoms of vomiting & diarrhoea.

To help medical staff protect patients, the hospital has implemented strict infection control measures across the building.

Medics stress this action is to contain an outbreak of the norovirus and is not connected to the Swine Flu outbreak in Mexico.

Anyone worried about vomiting and diarrhoea should call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or ask for a telephone consultation with their GP.

Friends or relatives requiring any further information on visiting restrictions should contact the Countess’ PALS team from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, on Freephone 0800 195 1241 or visit
