YOUNG people who have experienced homelessness across North Wales came together at a special day conference to celebrate skills and share their experiences.

Coming Together was the first conference organised by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association for tenants in supported accommodation aimed at recognising and encouraging the wide range of skills and contributions made by residents and allowing the opportunity to share experiences and helpful information.

The event, held at Northop Hall Horticultural College, brought together young people from schemes across Wrexham, Denbighshire and Flintshire.

The day consisted of practical workshops on a variety of subjects from legal problems caused by cannabis, to sexual health issues and tenant participation.

There was also a DVD workshop looking at how young people are perceived by society.

The day also saw the launch of You Are Not Alone the promotional DVD featuring residents who contributed to the writing as well as the filming.

Awards and certificates were given to all who attended, with those who had taken part in other events and community or fundraising activities also receiving certificates.
