A CHARITY hog roast and fun day was held by the mayor of Ellesmere Port.

Cllr Angela Claydon organised the event in aid of the Mayor’s Charity Fund for local children's groups and charities.

It was hosted by Ken and Sue Brown at the White Lion, New Road, Childer Thornton.

The mayor said: “It was a great day, and everyone had a good time. The weather was not especially kind, but the children still enjoyed the bouncy castle, and there was a sing-along in the bar. We raised over £200 for the charity fund.

“My grateful thanks to Ken and Sue Brown, who organised the event, and allowed us to take over their pub for the day.

“They also supplied raffle prizes, along with Danny Green from Nandos on Cheshire Oaks, and Mark Dawson, from Pernickerty Hair Salon, Loxdale Drive.”
