HIKERS have passed another milestone in their marathon fundraising efforts.
Members of the North Wales Charity Ramblers of Penyffordd have presented cheques totalling £8,000 to two hospices.
They raised the cash through sponsorship.
Among the challenges tackled during the last year were a trek through the Wye Valley, a 50-mile cycle ride, the Yorkshire Three Peaks and a 55-mile hike from Bodfari to Hope House in Oswestry.
The hospice received a cheque for £4,000 from the group, which gave the same amount to Nightingale House.
The ramblers have a full calendar for 2006, when they will be raising money for the BIRD brain injury centre in Broughton.
