CARING colleagues who completed a Three Peaks challenge in memory of their former boss have presented a £7,000 cheque to charity.

Staff at Lloyd Morris Electrical, on Pandy Industrial Estate, raised the impressive amount after scaling three mountains in 24 hours.

They took on the challenge in memory of the company's founder, Eric Lloyd, who died three years ago after battling cancer. The company chose to support the Ron Smith Cancer Appeal at Bodelwyddan Hospital, where Eric was looked after.

Company spokesman Tim Hopkinson said: 'It was a very fitting tribute to Eric, he was very much a team player and leader. He would have been right behind them.'

An official presentation was made to the charity with Doris Roberts and Stevie Boyd attending to accept the £7,000 cheque on behalf of the Ron Smith Cancer Appeal.

The funds raised, will be put toward the cost of a new scanner.

Phil Bulkeley, of Lloyd Morris Electrical, said: 'I would like to once again convey our gratitude to everyone who supported the fundraising event to a very successful conclusion.'

Anyone who would like to assist in further fundraising events should contact Doris Roberts on 01745 812504.
