A WINSFORD primary school ended the summer term on a high note after being awarded an official seal of approval.

High Street Primary was told last week it had retained its Quality Mark for its inclusive approach to education.

An inspector evaluated the effectiveness of inclusion for all stakeholders in the school community, and said the school showed ‘excellent inclusive practice’.

In order to gain the award the school underwent a rigorous ‘self-evaluation’ led by headteacher Mark Joule and inclusion coordinator Seren Hathway.

This was followed by an assessment day in which an external assessor visited to meet children, parents, staff and governors.

The ‘outstanding’ report praised pupil attitudes, staffing systems, the learning environment and the school’s links with the community.
