WREXHAM firefighters are doing their bit for the 2008 Wrexham Poppy Appeal by placing a 4ft poppy on their drill tower.
Ian Williams, county operations manager for Wrexham, said: “North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is glad to be supporting the Poppy Appeal and as we have a high drill tower that can be seen from a distance it seemed the ideal place to hang the poppy.
“North Wales Police is also supporting this appeal and have placed a big poppy on the side of their Eastern Divisional HQ building.”
Kevin Forbers, community fundraiser for the Royal British Legion, said: “We are delighted for the co-operation shown by North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
“We are really pleased they are able to be involved.”
