A FUNDRAISER is hoping to hit the heights by tackling the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge.

Helen Davis, 26, who works for an Ellesmere Port housing association and is a former pupil of Whitby High School, is to tackle the feat on July 24.

She will join a group of friends in walking the 25 miles and climbing the three highest peaks in Yorkshire – Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

Helen, who now lives in Chester, said: “I have been getting some training in North Wales, practising over places such as Moel Famau.

“I’m completing it in order to raise funds for a very small but amazing charity organisation in Swaziland called Leadership for Africa, which runs a small group of orphanages for abandoned and AIDS-orphaned children.

“I have been wanting to do a charity event for some time after seeing the work they do. I am hoping to raise as much as possible for the charity, so they can be self-sufficient.”
