Hartford design consultancy greensplash Ltd has completed a newly designed website for Women In Need (WIN) (www.women-in-need.co.uk), a charity which helps abandoned women suffering from a variety of health and socio-economic problems in India.

Through online communities and social media networks, WIN hopes that people will help spread the word of women suffering in impoverished parts of India and around the world. It is hoped that engaging with online, as well as offline, audiences will help WIN to continue to make a difference in the lives of these women.

Women In Need founder Leah Pattison said: "greensplash has provided us with a website that we are proud of and which projects the charity’s work in the most informative way. The feedback we have received from our donors has been very positive."

Working with greensplash design, WIN aimed to create an effective web presence that would help raise the profile of the charity and communicating the stories of the women helped by Women In Need’s work. As the website had to reflect the ethos and work of the charity, WIN was keen to develop a website that clearly communicated its messages, but wasn’t overly ‘corporate’ in feel. The final design, which is visual yet minimal, supports this, enabling website users to obtain clear information and how they can help these ladies who are abandoned on the streets and in the slums to suffer from leprosy, HIV/Aids, mental illness and the effects of rape and abuse.

Mark Pattison, the charity’s website manager, said: "greensplash realised the charity’s needs from the very start and created a stunning online presence for Women In Need.

"It’s been a joy to share the new site with donors and the rest of the online community. The site will help WIN treat many more of these abandoned and forgotten women."
