A RHOSNESNI woman will face the challenge of a lifetime when she embarks on a sponsored trek along the Great Wall of China.

Faye Weaver, a hair stylist at The Salon in Holt, is undertaking the challenge in October to raise money for the PDSA, one of Britain's leading veterinary charities.

The mammoth trek includes a 1,100ft ascent of Wuzoulou Mountain and a hike along the Black Dragon Paw Park Garage before the final day's challenge to follow the Great Wall to the furthest point that can be walked.

Faye said: 'Participating in the Great Wall of China trek is a fantastic opportunity for me to make a difference to needy pets. PDSA is a lifeline for pet owners unable to afford veterinary fees, so I hope all animal lovers will support my trek and make a donation.

'No matter how small, every contribution will help.'

Faye has already raised £1,500 sponsorship for the trip, but has now asked Mail readers to help her raise the final £500.

* Anyone wishing to sponsor Faye can fill in her sponsorship form at The Salon or send a cheque for her attention, payable to PDSA at The Salon, The Cross, Holt, Wrexham, LL13 9YG.
