TWO Gwersyllt men have admitted a charge of assault by beating.

Andrew Thomas, 27, of Hardwick Drive, and Paul Ramsden, 27, of Wheatsheaf Mews, attacked Elles- mere Port man Neil Beahon in Chester on December 12, 2008.

Thomas was handed a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.

He was ordered to take part in 10 sessions of a violence for angry impulsive drinkers course at Wrexham Probation.

Thomas was also placed on an eight-week curfew, and must stay at his home address from 8pm-8am daily.

He will be electronically monitored in a supervision requirement to last 18 months.

He must pay £100 compensation to Mr Beahon plus £60 costs.

Ramsden was handed a community order where he must take part in an enhancing thinking skills course for 22 days. The work will be supervised by Wrexham Probation.

He was also ordered to carry out 120 hours unpaid work in the next 12 months.

He must also pay £50 compensation to Mr Beahon and £60 costs.
