AN ELLESMERE Port man is calling on the public to help recapture some poignant memories of his late wife.

The man, who has asked to remain anonymous, was the victim of a theft on when his laptop was stolen from his car on Plantation Drive.

And, as if the theft itself was not enough, the laptop contained photos of his late wife which he had been showing to other family members.

Inspector Simon Roberts, of Ellesmere Port Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “Some of these photos are the only copies the man has and they are of real sentimental value.

“Any crime is unacceptable, but this is particularly heartbreaking given the nature of what was stolen.

“We are appealing to the thief to return the laptop to the man, via Ellesmere Port Police station if necessary, as he is desperate to recover the lost images.”

Investigating officer DC Alison Edwards said: “The stolen laptop is an Acer 3290G and it was taken from a Toyota Carina overnight between Monday October 13 and Tuesday October 14.

“It’s possible the owner was seen putting the laptop in the car and I appeal for anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in the area, or has information about the theft to come forward and help reunite the victim with some treasured memories.
