THE WOMEN’S Aid branch in Wrexham has been given a £4,860 boost.

The money will be used to set up a one-stop-shop to deliver confidential advice, support and training programmes for women who have been abused.

The latest round of Awards for All Wales grants was welcomed by the county’s AM, Lesley Griffiths.

Women’s Aid offers support to vulnerable women and their children.

Ms Griffiths said: “It is essential Women’s Aid is able to offer a safe environment to those women who need help and support. Their recent move into larger offices means they will be able to provide this improved service.”

The Awards for All Wales programme is supported by the Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
