TELEVISION star Paul Crone visited pupils of Capenhurst Primary School to help them launch their ‘One World Week’ project.

The Granada Reports presenter, who is about to attempt a 25-mile crossing of the English Channel in a 17ft sea kayak to raise funds for the North West Air Ambulance Charity, enjoyed a French-themed afternoon with the children.

As he is completing his gruelling challenge next week, when the event takes place in school, he dropped in early to lend his support.

And pupils returned the favour by donating £120 to his £15,000 fundraising target.

Youngsters also got the opportunity to wish Paul a ‘bon voyage’ by writing their own personal message on his kayak.

During ‘One World Week’ pupils will learn about different countries and cultures, and what they can do to help the environment.

They will take part in dance sessions, music and ICT workshops, cooking, big arts, storytellers and African drumming and singing sessions.
