AN AUTOGRAPHED Wales rugby shirt donated to Nightingale House has raised £150 for the hospice.

The shirt, signed by singer Katherine Jenkins, was entered into the hospice's auction of promises in April and was successfully bought by Smartcare Training, a division of Pendine Park Teaching Care Centre, Wrexham.

Tracey Evans, lead trainer at Smartcare, said: 'The shirt will take pride of place at our training centre. We hope it will inspire all who learn at SmartcareTraining.'

Even though Nightingale House's auction evening was cancelled, £1,500 has been raised through successful paper and phone bids for various auction items.

Menai Owen-Jones, fund-raiser at the hospice, said: 'I would like to thank everyone for bidding for the items and helping us to raise funds for Nightingale House.

'We are pleased with the amount raised from the auction, especially considering that we had to cancel the event!'
