BEER enthusiasts will be able to enjoy 30 award-winning ales from across the globe at Wetherspoon pubs in Ellesmere Port.

As part of the chain’s 18-day International Beer Festival starting tomorrow (Thursday), an array of cask-conditioned ales will be available at The Wheatsheaf in Overpool Road and The Thomas Telford in the town centre.

The beers on offer have been sourced from brewers in Japan, Australia, Denmark, USA, Poland and Belgium, as well as the UK.

They include speciality, seasonal, organic and fruit beers which have been brewed exclusively for the pubs, as well as one ale selected in partnership with Campaign for Real Ale members.

The pubs will also serve limited-edition craft ciders from the USA and customers will be able to sample any three of the real ales in special third-of-a-pint glasses for the price of a pint.

Ian Mervyn, manager of The Wheatsheaf, said: “The festival will give people the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of UK and international beers which are not normally available in the area.

“It promises to be great fun and I am certain that customers at The Wheatsheaf will enjoy themselves.”

The festival runs until Sunday, November 16 with all beers priced at £1.49 a pint.
