A FREE girls-only fitness day is being held at Neston Recreation Centre on Sunday, November 16.

The event is aimed at encouraging girls to become more active by playing sport or attending fitness classes.

Active 8 Leisure are hosting the day in partnership with Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council and the School Sports Partnership, with funding from Sport England and sponsorship from Nike.

Registration at 11.30am will be followed by four hours of multi-sports, fitness and health-related activities, including trampolining, kangoo jumps, dance sessions, Tae Kwon Do, cheerleading, cycling and pamper sessions aimed at 11 to 16-year-olds.

Council community development officer Sarah Parry said: “The day breaks down barriers to participation in sport.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for girls to come along and gain a taster of the variety of activities available in the borough.”

To take part, pick up a girls fitness day invitation from one of the following venues and book. Invitations are available from all high school PE departments, Neston Recreation Centre, The Hub and Libraries.

Or you can contact Neston Recreation Centre on 0151 336 5741.
