A PROGRAMME of girls-only sport frenzy sessions is being held in Ellesmere Port.
The sessions are being run by the borough council at the Epic Leisure Centre in McGarva Way on Sunday afternoons throughout September, October and November.
Cheerleading, dancing and the opportunity to try out kangoo jumps are among the activities on offer.
Kangoo Jumps make use of safe, low impact rebound sport shoes.
The sessions cost £1 and feature the following activities: September 30 – 2-4pm Hip Hop Dance; October 7 – 2-4pm Football; October 14 – 2-4pm Football; October 21 – 2-3pm and 3-4pm Kangoo Jumps; October 28 – 2-4pm Cheerleading; November 4 – 2-3pm and 3-4pm Kangoo Jumps; and November 11 – 2-4pm Cheerleading.
The sessions are available to girls aged 11-16 years. Places each week are limited and can be booked in advance by calling 0151 355 6432.
Sarah House, the borough’s community development officer, said: ‘The sessions aim to raise the importance of adopting an active lifestyle by providing something fun with many great health benefits.’
