IMPROVEMENTS to a school field have started in earnest after a £500 donation.
A fence has now been erected at the Meadow Primary School, Dolphin Crescent, Great Sutton, and much more is to come after Greif UK donated £500.
Greif (UK) Ltd, which has a plant in Oil Sites Road, Ellesmere Port, produce container barrels.
Teacher Jackie Pearson said: “We’ve had a team of volunteers who have come and started to dig out the path for us. There will also be a herb wheel. There will be a hexagonal wheel with a sundial in the middle full of herbs.
“The students from West Cheshire College will be doing the raised beds.
“Joe Nuttall, from Greif, got in touch because his managing director had some money given to them because they’d won an award and it had to go somewhere local.
“His grandchildren Max Kendrick, Amelia Shone and Yasmin Nuttal are at the school so we were in the right place at the right time.
“They’re really keen on getting on board and trying to help as much as they can.”
