FURTHER time was granted for a non-food retail development adjoining a filling station in Ellesmere Port.

The application was put forward on land adjacent to the Port Filling Station, Station Road by Chartergate Properties Ltd.

Permission for the development, in the Westminster local shopping centre, was originally granted in 2008, according to planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The free-standing premises would be located at the rear of the site with 13 parking spaces in front.

The design includes landscaping and a pedestrian walkway. No objections were made to the application.

Planning officers referred to the benefits of improving the vitality and viability of the shopping centre.

They pointed out the site had been occupied by a club which was demolished in mid-1980s and had been vacant since then.

The application was recommended for approval and the council agreed to grant further time.
