THE tragic death of a young Ellesmere Port mum who died suddenly last week will be marked with a memorial service on Friday.

Devastated friends and family of Nicola Rigby will gather at Christ the King Church in Bromborough to remember the 26-year-old.

Facebook tributes have been flooding in for Nicola, who was mum to five-month old Lily, and an online fundraising website set up to support Nicola’s fiancé Mark Wilson, has already raised more than £1,000 through donations from well-wishers.

Nicola, of Princes Road, who was a supervisor at JJB Sports on Cheshire Oaks, was a keen member of Vauxhall Motors’ ladies football team and was due to marry Mark, 27, in two years time.

He has asked mourners to attend her funeral dressed in bright colours, and to place a white lily, Nicola’s favourite flower, on her coffin instead of soil.

The service will also feature three of Nicola’s favourite songs, including Take That’s Rule The World, which held special meaning to both her and Mark.

He said: “I’m planning on having that one because it was our song, as well as Someone Like You by Adele because it was the first song we heard when Lily was born, and Skinny Love by Birdie, because Nicky used to sing it to Lily when she was in her stomach.

“I want everyone to wear bright clothes because I think that’s what Nicky would want. “

He added: “Lily and I have had so much love and support from everyone and their kindness has been overwhelming – all the money raised will help me to make the funeral a little bit nicer and also to buy Lily some lovely things.”

Nicola’s funeral will be held at 12.30pm on Friday. Donations and flowers will be gratefully accepted, or if you want to donate to her fundraising page, visit www.gofundme.com/whls0.
