A FUNDRAISER from Elton has clinched a job helping bring in cash for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

The hospice has announced the appointment of two new fundraisers to its appeals team.

Katie Cartwright, 30, from Elton, and Lynn Taylor, 29, of Hoylake, recently joined the charity’s Bebington-based hospice.

Katie joins Claire House from Age Concern where she was senior fundraiser for five years. Her new job will include raising awareness of the charity in the Chester and Cheshire areas to encourage donations.

Lynn has been recruited as area fundraiser for Wirral and North Wales. She was a member of the Volunteer Missionary Movement and spent three years as easyJet cabin crew.

Pat Faragher, director of fundraising at Claire House, said: “Both Katie and Lynn bring fundraising experience and are ready for the challenges ahead.

“In 2010 we managed to reach our running costs of £2.3m to support 157 children and families. This continues to be a struggle particularly in the current climate.

“We are confident Lynn and Katie will help strengthen our team so we can continue to work hard towards these targets.”
