DANCERS have donated more than £1,000 to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Pam Evans-Hughes's class, which practices in Garden Village, handed £1,080 to the hospital to go toward its Ultrasound Scanner appeal.

Dance teacher, choreographer and lecturer Pam has been raising money for good causes through her classes for 24 years. The cash is generated by ticket sales for the group's end-of-season show.

Pam is a senior lecturer in Welsh at NEWI and for 10 years has been choreographer for Tip Top Productions.

Previously charities such as Nightingale House and Hope House Children's Hospice have been on the receiving end of the donations.

This year's show was held at the William Aston Hall at NEWI and featured about 40 performers - all members of Pam's toddler, junior and senior dance classes.

Oswestry-based comp re and magician Paul Dabek managed the introductions and gave a display from his show Enchantment.

Other guest artists included singers Brian Fray, Jamie Lee Edge and Ceri Lynn Humphreys.

Anyone wanting information about enrolling their children in the classes can find Pam teaching at the Ebenezer Chapel in Chester Road, Wrexham, on Monday evenings.
