A SPORTY fundraiser has raised more than £2,000.

Chester-based John Jennings recently clocked up 52 miles on a treadmill at Bromborough’s Asda store from 10.20am to 9.15pm.

John stepped out as customers and staff dropped loose change into buckets and raised £2,606.

The money will go to John’s chosen charity, Pioneer-backed Miles of Smiles. It will enable two sick or disabled children to join the charity’s all-expenses-paid holiday to Disneyland Paris in September.

John said: “This is the biggest single amount I have raised from a treadmill run. I am delighted to have done my bit for such a worthy appeal.”
